Rancraft to be powered by Honda in UK

By IBI Magazine

Windward Yachting, the sole UK distributor of Italy's Rancraft sportsboats, has announced that Honda Marine is to fit its four-stroke engines to the Rancraft outboard range. As part of the agreement, the Rancraft/Honda outboard packages will be marketed to Honda dealers, with a view to establishing a wider retailing network through selected Honda Marine dealers in the UK.

"We are delighted with the interest shown in the packages that were displayed at the Sportsboat and RIB Show earlier in May and we feel the technology and performance match of Rancraft with Honda is outstanding," says Phill Haynes, national sales manager for Honda Marine. "Combine that with the free RYA level II Powerboat Training we offer on the 75hp and our domestic warranty of five years, it's also a pretty self-assured package too."

Rancraft boats are comprised of 11 different models ranging from 5.2m-8.3m (17ft-27ft) in length, including boats in the Millennium, Vittoria, Cirrus and Cruiser range. The company is based in Soverato, Italy.

Based at Northney Marina on Britain's Hayling Island, Windward Yachting is also the sole UK importer for Catalina Yachts, and acts as a regional agent for Revenger RIBs. The new Rancraft/Honda range will be promoted at a number of events this year, including the Class 1 Powerboat Grand Prix in Plymouth next month, as well as the Southampton Boat Show in September.
